We’re Ready for Spring — So We’re Starting Early

Winter always feels long.

The gray skies. The heavy meals. The layered hoodies.

And even though spring doesn’t officially arrive until March 20th, we’re already craving lighter flavors, brighter colors, and that fresh-start energy.

So we decided to start a little early.

This Honey Lemon Shortbread recipe is our way of welcoming spring before the calendar says we can.

Bright citrus. Warm honey. Buttery shortbread.
Simple. Light. Refreshing.

And when paired with terpene-rich flower, it makes for a beautifully balanced seasonal treat.

Honey Lemon THCa-Infused Shortbread

Flavor Profile

Buttery, lightly sweet, fresh lemon zest with warm honey undertones.

A clean, bright dessert that feels like sunshine breaking through winter.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup softened butter (infused butter if using)
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Optional: a light pinch of dried culinary lavender

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F.
  2. Cream butter, powdered sugar, and honey until smooth.
  3. Add lemon zest and lemon juice. Mix until incorporated.
  4. Slowly mix in flour and salt until a soft dough forms.
  5. Roll dough to about ¼-inch thickness.
  6. Cut into spring shapes (flowers, circles, or simple rectangles).
  7. Bake 12–15 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  8. Allow cookies to cool fully before serving.

Optional Lemon Glaze

  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1–2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice

Whisk until smooth and lightly drizzle over cooled cookies.

Pairing Tip

Bright citrus desserts pair beautifully with terpene profiles that lean:

  • Limonene-forward (citrus brightness)
  • Balanced hybrid expressions
  • Fruit-forward strains

The combination enhances the overall sensory experience without overwhelming the palate.

Why Start Spring Early?

Because sometimes the shift in energy starts before the season does.

Lighter meals. Longer days. A little more sunshine.
Spring isn’t just a date — it’s a mindset.

And this simple recipe is a small way to lean into that shift.

⚠️ Friendly Reminder

If preparing infused butter for this recipe:

  • Always start with a small portion.
  • Allow adequate time before consuming more.
  • Store infused products clearly labeled and out of reach of children and pets.

Final Thoughts

Spring is around the corner — and we’re ready.

Whether you’re baking for yourself, sharing with friends, or just looking for a brighter seasonal flavor, this Honey Lemon Shortbread is a fresh way to welcome what’s next.

Here’s to longer days, lighter flavors, and new beginnings.

FAQ

THCa, or tetrahydrocannabinolic acid, is a naturally occurring compound found in raw hemp flower.

At Peaceful Pines Hemp Farm, we produce premium THCa hemp flower known for its rich cannabinoid profile, smooth aroma, and exceptional quality. Our products are low in Delta-9 THC and fully Farm Bill compliant.

Yes! Our THCa flower is 100% federally legal under the 2018 Farm Bill. This legislation allows for the cultivation and sale of hemp products with less than 0.3% Delta-9 THC by dry weight. Since THCa is not Delta-9 THC, our flower remains within legal limits.
We’re proud to offer compliant, lab-tested hemp flower with high THCa content that meets federal regulations. Please note that some states have local restrictions, so we recommend checking your state’s hemp laws. You can also visit our Shipping page to see where we currently ship Peaceful Pines hemp flower.

CBG (cannabigerol) and CBD (cannabidiol) are non-psychoactive cannabinoids that naturally occur in hemp. While they won’t get you high, they’re known for supporting mental clarity, relaxation, and overall body balance.
CBG is often referred to as the “mother cannabinoid” because other cannabinoids are derived from it. CBD, on the other hand, is celebrated for its calming, anti-inflammatory effects. When combined with THCa, these cannabinoids work synergistically in what’s known as the “entourage effect,” enhancing both the therapeutic benefits and overall experience of hemp flower.
Our Peaceful Pines strains are thoughtfully bred to deliver optimal levels of THCa, CBG, and CBD—providing a well-rounded, full-spectrum product designed to support your wellness goals.

Terpenes are aromatic compounds found in hemp and many other plants. They’re responsible for the unique scent and flavor profiles of each hemp flower strain and also contribute to the overall effects.
At Peaceful Pines Hemp Farm, our THCa flower is packed with naturally occurring terpenes that enhance not only the aroma and taste but also the therapeutic experience. Here are some of the most common terpenes in our strains:

CARYOPHYLLENE  – Pepper, Woody, Spicy
