About

About Peaceful Pines Hemp Farm.

“The plants have enough spirit to transform our limited vision.”

We are a 5th generation family farm. For over 150 years, our family has raised crops and animals on this patch of the prairie. Over the years, the crops change, the animals change, and practices change. Wisdom is passed down from one generation to the next. Wisdom gained through both success and failures. Each generation strives to absorb that wisdom and push forward; to improve production and techniques while leaving the land and soil in better shape than when you started. These are challenging tasks with ever-changing goals, rooted in constant learning.

Every generation is faced with its own unique set of challenges and opportunities. Our generation has been blessed with living in the time of ending the prohibition of cannabis. We began growing hemp in 2019 and have been in love with the plant ever since. The learning curve has been steep at times, but the wisdom and lessons passed down from the generations before us has pushed us through and allowed our hemp to flourish. Wisdom like no-till to conserve soil moisture and promote earthworm channels for enhanced root growth. Slowly composting manure from our pastured beef herd for natural, organic, slow-release fertility. Cover crops to increase soil microbes and keep the soil ecosystem working all year. And all the knowledge passed down from years of raising organic fresh produce in the garden!

Growing cannabis has changed us as people and our outlook on life. This is a truly special plant. There are no words to describe the feeling of walking through a hemp patch in full flower, just before dusk as the air begins to get heavy and the sunset is on the horizon. It is a feeling that we do our best to pass on to our customers by focusing on every plant just as Mother Nature intended:

Organically Grown. Under the Sun. With Love.

FAQ

What is THCa?

THCA is one of the many cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. THCA is the precursor to THC, which is responsible for the “high” associated with marijuana. THCA Hemp looks, smells, tastes, and gets you high like marijuana. THCA, in its raw form, has no psychoactive effects, However, once THCA is heated (a lighter sparking a joint), it decarboxylates and converts to THC and gets you high. The effects from THCA Hemp are the same as the flower you would pick up at your local dispensary.

Is this legal?

Yes! THCA is 100% federally legal. The Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018, commonly known as the Farm Bill, legalized hemp. It defines hemp as cannabis with less than 0.3% THC by dry weight, distinguishing it from marijuana. The hemp we grow on the farm is high in THCA, but below the 0.3% THC threshold. Some state level laws vary from the federal law, so please check where you live. We have a list of states we are unable to ship to in the shipping section.

What is CBG and CBD?

Other cannabinoids found in lower amounts in our flower are CBG and CBD. These non-psychoactive cannabinoids work in synergy with THCA to create a loosening of the body and promote feelings of relaxation and relief, along with the elevated high of THCA.

What are Terpenes?

Terpenes are the fragrant oils found in the cannabis plant. These are what give each strain its own unique aroma and taste.  Terpenes work in synergy with cannabinoids, so each strain can bring its own unique experience to the user.
